For the studio session, you can come as and when you please. It is different from the stuctured lessons that I offer at Nafa. Having learnt this before, I am sure you will be able to pick up where you left off very fast. For newbies, they’ll need a structured learning environment. I suggest they sign up for my class at Nafa.
The studio programme at APAD is developed to offer a common studio facility for anybody interested in batik painting. The difficulties of batik painting is primarily about having a proper studio facility with all the right equipments and materials. Most of us would even have problem containing the smell of heated wax from our flat.
This will be a place to meet, exchange ideas and learn from one another. We’ll be guiding and motivating one another on projects and conduct experiments. Hopefully the group will grow and have regular art exhibitions.
Most importantly, it will be a place to de-stress – so you set your own pace and objectives.

Hi Julie,
Thank you for your interest. The batik painting programme for beginners at Nafa is eight weekly evening sessions of 3 hours. It starts as soon as they have enough students signed-up, so I really can’t tell when. You should call Nafa’s Continuing Education Department at 65124214 to enquire. Or see http://www.nafa.edu.sg/in_courses/parttime/2007/ce/contents.htm
I can consider arranging for a customised course only if there is at least 5 students interested. The details we’ll have to discuss in person.
Regards,
Kamal

Hi bob K,
Niece to know you are doing fine.
It’s good, a lot of the young ones
are enjoying art. Remember the ‘Stroke’,
a good stroke give a lasting impact.
Somehow i still remember your painting
of the figure in strokes at the studio.
As for the participants in your class,
Keep smiling and enjoy drawing.
